What do you mean it's recommended? -Aren't they all the same? It's a slip lead, how different can it be? Ok, I get it...all the questions and confusion but if you're a dog trainer and requesting a specific slip leash or a current client and your trainer is recommending a slip leash, then I'm listening. Not all slip leads are made equal and I'm here to share some of our tried and true TRAINER RECOMMENDED SLIP LEASHES.
My first trainer recommended slip leash is what we now call "The Maude". It acquired it's name after Jen Bauman with Maude and the Bulldogs, LLC requested a specific custom hands-free leash. She started sharing it with her clients and friends and recommending it if you were looking for something these particular features. Followers wanted the same leash but ordering wasn't easy and I would always have to look back at messages and old orders to see exactly what we came up with that worked perfectly for her. So creating a spot for her clients, friends and followers to quickly and effortlessly order her ideal "hands-free" slip leash was my goal. Check it out here!
Our original slip leash is 5ft long with a 10 inch handle. When I originally came up with the template we use to cut our slip leashes I cut it with the circumference of the dog's neck in mind. So it's 5ft give or take depending on how large or small the dog is using it.
Here's the unique features of The Maude. The Maude is 9ft in length, which allows her to place it cross-body and still have plenty of movement and leash for the dog. She actually does an amazing job describing how she uses it so I'll let her do that.
I love that this clip on one end and the slip on the other allows you to have a choice of using a slip lead or a clip leash.
If you've been thinking you need a hands-free slip lead/clip leash then you cannot go wrong with this choice.
